2025 Highly Commended Award winning wedding photographer
What a fantastic way to wrap up 2024 and kickstart 2025! After capturing so many incredible weddings last year, I’m beyond thrilled to have been recognised as one of the best wedding photographers in the Yorkshire & North East region—again!
I entered The Wedding Industry Awards (TWIA) 2025 in the Wedding Photographer of the Year category and was honoured to reach the Regional Finals for Yorkshire & The North East for the second year in a row. Having never entered these awards before 2024, I wasn’t sure what to expect, especially alongside such a talented group of photographers. With 23 of us making it to the regional finals, the competition was tough, making this recognition even more meaningful.
For those unfamiliar with TWIA, it is the only regional and national client-voted, expert-judged awards in the UK wedding industry. Established in 2011, TWIA celebrates and rewards excellence across the wedding sector. The awards are unique because they focus heavily on client feedback, ensuring the entire experience—not just the final images—plays a crucial role in the judging process.
Each of my couples from the past year had the opportunity to vote for me, answering a series of questions and providing scores out of 10, provided they met the voting criteria. Seeing my total score come close to a perfect 70 out of 70 is an incredible feeling! Knowing that my clients took the time to share their thoughts and experiences means the world to me.
While awards are a great accolade, what truly matters to me is the heartfelt feedback from my couples. TWIA’s anonymous voting system allows me to read unfiltered testimonials, and it has been genuinely humbling to see what my clients think about their experience with me. I always ask for feedback after each wedding, but reading these comments has been incredibly rewarding.
