Hnin + Mark | Tissington Hall

Hnin + Mark’s wedding at Tissington Hall

Arriving at Tissington Hall, the day began with a misty drizzle, which only added to the charm of the historic venue. Mark greeted me with an umbrella while capturing the scene-setting shots of the elegant grounds and Hall. The British weather would not defeat these guys!

Morning Moments

Mark was in high spirits as I joined him and his Best Men for some getting-ready moments. Between glasses of fizz and laughter with his friends, you could see how excited Mark was for the day ahead. Meanwhile, just down the corridor, Hnin was getting ready on the other side of a door labelled “No Peeking.” The playful sign was a sweet reminder of how close they were while still upholding the wedding-day tradition of not seeing each other before the ceremony.

When I visited Hnin and her bridesmaids, the room was filled with joy but also super relaxed. Hair and makeup were underway, and it was heartwarming to witness Hnin take a video call with her family back home, who sadly couldn’t attend. Technology played a vital role in bridging the distance, allowing her loved ones to share in her excitement despite the miles between them. As the rain briefly paused, Hnin made her way from the old schoolhouse to the main hall with a massive smile as she walked to the front of the hall.

The Ceremony in the Main Hall

The ceremony inside Tissington Hall’s grand main room was intimate and beautiful. With Hnin’s family at home watching on the phone, Hnin entered with her signature warmth and was met by a massive hug from Mark – a moment of pure joy setting the day’s tone. After exchanging vows before their closest friends and family, Hnin and Mark stepped outside for a cheerful confetti moment without any rain in sight! The drinks reception was followed while everyone enjoyed them by the roaring open fire in the Hall. It was a cosy yet celebratory atmosphere, with Hnin and Mark sharing a private moment to connect virtually with Hnin’s family. Capturing this interaction was a privilege, showcasing their heartfelt effort to include everyone in their day.

Exploring Tissington: Couple Portraits and Group Shots

With the rain breaking, we headed outside to enjoy the picturesque surroundings. Group photos on the terrace were a must, with everyone relaxed and enjoying themselves. Then, Hnin and Mark slipped away with me for a wander around the quaint village of Tissington, just the two of them, me and a few ducks.

This time together was great and just as easygoing as it was on their pre-wedding shoot. As we strolled through Tissington, I couldn’t help but feel like I was photographing friends – albeit dressed in elegant wedding clothes. Their love for each other and fun-loving interaction were so natural and easy to capture, and we even managed to squeeze in a quick session in the Tissington family library before moving on to the reception.

The Reception: Laughter, Speeches, and Sparkling Fun

The old schoolhouse provided a charming backdrop for the wedding reception. The speeches were filled with laughter, with a few cheeky revelations that had Mark’s parents raising their eyebrows in surprise. The room buzzed with joy as stories were shared and toasts raised. After the meal, Hnin and Mark were eager to include some evening fun with sparklers. So we found a darker spot in the gardens and in front of the house during twilight to make sure they could have some fun moments for me to capture while they went through a tunnel of friends holding sparklers.

Evening Elegance and Dance Floor Energy

The evening reception was a lively celebration filled with memorable moments. Hnin dazzled everyone by changing into a glittering, sparkly dress perfect for dancing. The laughter and love were infectious from their first dance to the couples’ questions game. The dance floor came alive as friends and family joined in, showcasing incredible moves and even a few guests lifting Mark and Hnin onto their shoulders. The energy was infectious, and it was such a joy to document these moments of pure celebration.

Hnin and Mark’s wedding at Tissington Hall was a true celebration of love, family, and connection. Their day was filled with warmth and joy, from heartfelt virtual moments to lively dances and intimate portraits. It was an honour to capture their story, and I hope these memories bring a smile to their faces for years to come. Anyway, enough from me.
